Harvest Baptist Church of Warren County was incorporated in November of 2013 with a handful of founding members and a pastor with a heart for Warren County. The church's first service was held on Sunday December 1, 2013 in property leased from Dutchman Hospitality, at the site of the former Carlisle Gifts Building. The property had been abandoned since the tragic fire in the kitchen of the landmark Der Dutchman Restaurant, located within yards of the Carlisle Gifts building. The Lord blessed us with a landlord that wished to see the Lord's hand at work in the area, and with a large amount of prayer and faith, the church purchased the 42 acre property in February of 2016. The congregation has since grown strong and vibrant, in ages from birth to retirement, with the Lord's blessings.
We believe that we worship the Lord individually all week long as we read our Bibles, pray for others, serve in our communities, and acknowledge His Lordship over every aspect of our lives. But there’s something special that happens when we come together to worship. We are encouraged by one another, and we can bear each other’s burdens. We can celebrate what God has been doing in our individual lives since the last time we met to worship together.
We believe the worship of the Lord through music and song is quite similar. We believe that when we gather at church to worship together, it should be a celebration of the musical worship that has been offered individually all week long.
At Harvest baptist church, we revere and celebrate the timeless truths and encouragement of time-tested, traditional hymns of the faith but we also embrace the God-honoring worship music being created by today’s worship leaders and songwriters. It moves us into honest, heartfelt worship in our cars and homes, and we believe it can do the same in the church.
That is why you have our pledge that each worship service will seamlessly blend both old and new music, treating both as the equals. Our prayer is that you will incorporate these songs into your individual worship throughout the week, so that when we come together on Sundays our musical worship can truly be a celebration of what the Lord has done in our hearts throughout the week.
